Description:
This job consists of staffing the front entrance welcome building
from
8 p.m. to 1 a.m. six nights a week in return for a site. Must
be
able to operate a golf cart safely at night, get up and down without
difficulty and quickly. Person in this position must dress
appropriately to represent the campground as a security
official.
This does not mean that one must have a security uniform but rather
that the person filling this position be well dressed and
respectable
in appearance. Must be able to operate a portable radio and
assist with positioning RV's into sites. Must be detail
oriented
and authoritative.

Terms of Employment as Work Campers at Candy Hill Campground
Candy Hill Campground will provide a campsite consisting of a pad
for
your rig, equipped with water, electric and sewer hookups.
Wireless Internet is also available, and cable service may be
arranged
for an additional fee.
Job responsibilities will be assigned according to the abilities and
preferences of each work camper, in conjunction with the needs of
the
campground. Security staff generally begin working evening
shift
after they
have mastered escort and site familiarization which is generally
done
during a daytime shift period. Candy
Hill prides itself on escorting all incoming campers to their sites,
so
escort service is an important part of this position.
Occasional
cleaning of the bathhouse, rental cabins,
club lounge and
pavilion are also responsibilities that may be assigned.
Additionally, security staff may be asked to pump propane, if
already
certified to do
so,
or to take the brief course enabling them to become certified.
Finally, all work campers assist in greeting guests and providing
general
customer service.
Security position is a simple trade for site situation.
Security
staff volunteer to work generally 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. six nights a week
in
return for a site. A total of 30 hours per week must be worked
to
keep free site rights. Days off include at
least one day per week. Additional time off may be arranged by
providing seven
days advance notice. Overall, hours are quite flexible and may
be
arranged with Candy Hill’s General Manager, on a weekly basis,
according to the needs and desires of the individuals and the
Campground. Perks include discounts on store merchandise and
on
LP gas.
Candy Hill Campground maintains a smoke-free environment in all our
buildings and while on duty (even outside). It is important
that this NOT pose problems for
employees.
A $250 deposit for your site reservation will be required but it
will be refunded with completion of your contract.
Members of work campers’ families are welcome to visit and to enjoy
all facilities of the park with approval from Candy Hill's General
Manager often at no charge.
